What you need:
  • Crocus or Snowdrop bulbs
  • Garden fork
  • Bone meal

Use a garden fork to make a series of holes. Take special care to ensure the holes are the right depth and size. It may be necessary to wiggle the garden fork back and forth to make the holes large enough to accommodate your bulbs.

Into each hole, add about a teaspoon of bone meal and inch of sand to improve drainage if poor.

Place one bulb in each hole, with the growing tip facing upwards. Fill the hole in with soil carefully, so as to not damage the delicate tip of the bulb.
