Lay two 6 or 8' bamboo stakes on the ground as shown, at a 15 degree angle. Special bamboo lashing cord is available, but any natural twine will work just fine. Use a 4-5' length of twine. |

Wrap the twine around each stake in an alternating figure eight pattern. Don't wrap the twine too tight or it will be difficult to adjust the angle of the stakes when you're finished. Use a double square knot to tie off the lashing when you run out of twine. |

Stand up the two stakes, and place a third stake in the V formed at the intersection of the two pieces of bamboo. Use another 4-5' length of twine to attach this stake to the other two, again with a double square knot. |

Wrap the twine around all three stakes, alternating wraps around each stake. Tie off the ends when you run out of twine, and the trellis is finished. If you didn't wrap the stakes too tightly, you should be able to adjust leg positions without difficulty. |
