What you need:
- Black lashing cord
- Scissors
Lashing bamboo together is easy once you get the hang of it. Begin by cutting a length of lashing cord about 5' long. Then lay it over the top piece of bamboo at a 45º angle. |

Pull the ends of the cord under and around the bottom piece of bamboo. |

Bring the ends of the cord up and across the top piece of bamboo. Then pull them down, under, and around the lower piece of bamboo again. |

Repeat this procedure several times, keeping as much tension as possible on the cord. What you are making is really just a series of figure eights. |

When you run out of cord, tie a knot above the top piece of bamboo. Any knot that won't slip (including a square knot) will do. If you don't have confidence in your knots, tie a double or triple knot as insurance against slippage. |

Trim away the excess cord. That's all there is to it. With practice, lashing bamboo will become second nature. |
