After they have attained a certain size in the bottle they are transplanted into a "community pot".

Eventually, they are large enough to be grown on in their own individual pot

After a couple of years, depending on the type of orchid and their growing conditions, orchids finally reach mature blooming size.

Orchids that are cared for properly can live 'literally' forever. They can become very large specimen plants.
