What you need:
- Plastic edging
- Spade or shovel
- Metal stakes
- Hammer or mallet
Installing plastic edging between flowerbeds and your lawn is a cost effective and maintenance free way of keeping grass where it belongs. |

Dig a trench about 4-5" deep and 3-4" wide along the entire length of the bed. |

Next, place the edging in the trench. You want the rounded lip at the top of the edging to be just above the soil line. If it sticks up to far, you will hit it when you mow your lawn. |

Secure the edging in place using metal stakes. One stake every 3- 4' or so is sufficient. |

Backfill soil into the trench and tamp it down with either the back of a shovel or by walking over it. Fill any low spots and rake the area smooth. |
